John Barge knows that education matters.
From my own childhood in Cobb County, I experienced the power of education. Education levels the playing field. Education breaks the cycle of poverty. Education is the great equalizer. I knew that if I was going to go to college, I had to work hard and earn scholarships. Coming out of a difficult home situation, a scholarship was the only way I would be able to attend college. I knew that I needed a college education to achieve my dream of serving my community and taking care of my family.
As parents, we all want to see our children educated for success. It is important that our children have the ability to achieve their own success in whatever field they are gifted and about whatever they are passionate. Education is the key to success. That has never been more true than it is today.
There are incredible opportunities waiting for our children. We need an education department that helps local school districts better meet the needs of our students.
I have the experience and leadership skills to make Georgia’s schools among the best in the nation because education matters.
